Pictures of the Nyangatom
Nyangatom bathing on the Omo River near Kangaten. Tribal
people do not swim in the Omo because of the numerous crocodiles in the
river. They walk to the edge and splash water on themselves as shown
below.

indigenous grain to the region and the primary crop. It comes in many
colors.

dugout canoe. The poles show that the Omo, for its width, is not very
deep. People often ford the river at certain times of the year. Sam
